SOS process improves the spent material handling process post distilling by utilizing a three phased approach- chemically treat the stillage to reduce organic concentration, separate the water from the spent grain, and press the grain to remove any free water making the spent grain easier to haul offsite. The SOS process eliminates the need for any type of specialty trucking or containers to haul off the spent ddgs.
ENVIRONMENTAL
SOS is the ONLY company capable of reducing the COD/BOD (organic load) in spent distillers grains, while simultaneously increasing the energy content of the spent distillers grains. By reducing the COD/BOD in the thin stillage, the environmental load on any waste treatment plant receiving the spent stillage is greatly reduced. The SOS process has been shown to reduce COD/BOD by up to 60%.
